Claim & Repair Cycle

Our aim is to return your vehicle to you fully restored to its pre-accident condition whilst handling all aspects of your claim in a professional courteous manner.

What happens next?

Step 1 - Estimate & Repair Bookings

One of our trained claims handlers will contact you to arrange the most suitable time to estimate and repair your vehicle. In cases where your car is driveable we would normally offer a repair booking within 14 days (and/or carry out a pre-estimate - this enables our parts operation to pre-order parts and reduce repair time). If your car is immobile we can normally accommodate the repair booking within 24 hours. Please note: you can request an estimate booking on line www.motofix-arc.co.uk

It is our policy to collect excess payments prior to work commencement, where applicable (Credit and debit cards are accepted).

Step 2 - Estimating Process

Our estimates are prepared electronically and sent to the insurer with images. Once in receipt of the estimate the insurance company will normally agree repair costs within 72 hours. Should the estimated cost of repairs be close to the current market value of your vehicle the insurance company may choose to send a field engineer to assess the vehicle before authorising repairs (or deeming it a beyond economical repair). Please note: to aid parts ordering your car may be partially stripped at this stage.

Should you be interested in having other repairs completed at the same time please notify our claims team at the earliest opportunity - we can often discount additional repairs as some of the process is already covered and paid for within the main repair.

Step 3 - Parts Ordering

Once we have received authorisation, or should the repair costs fall within our self authority limit, our parts department will liaise with local suppliers and organise delivery of all parts required for the repair to your vehicle, as agreed with your insurer.

Step 4 - The Repair Cycle

Once important items arrive the vehicle will be scheduled into the workshops for repair. The repair process with normally commence within 24hrs. The repair cycle consists of:

  • Panel - replace or repair panel components
  • Prep - prepare panel and plastic components for re-spray
  • Spray - spray components (inc blend to adjacent panels if necessary)
  • Refit - re-fix or replace trim, suspension and glass components
  • Road Test - where necessary road test and geometry completed
  • Polish - remove minor paint imperfections
  • Valet - exterior wash to remove repair debris

You can monitor the progress of repair and view our estimated completion date on line at: www.motofix-arc.co.uk. Please feel free to telephone or email the repairing branch if you require any additional updates, contact details can be found on our website.

Step 5 - Final Checks

Our quality controller will check your vehicle repair to ensure compliance with stringent quality standards.

Step 6 - Notification of Repair Completion

Once all of the above stages have been satisfactorily completed a member of the claims handling team will contact you to arrange the return of your completed vehicle. Please do not organise collection unless you have confirmed arrangements with one of our claims team.

Step 7 - Collection

Upon return we will ask you to sign a collection note to confirm you have received the vehicle back into your care. At this stage we will collect any payment for any additional work, betterment or VAT, if applicable. We regret vehicles cannot be released without payment.Credit and debit cards (but not American Express) are accepted.
